I Have Become Accustomed To Rejection

Rejections: Abjective, form. I should just let this market go. I don’t think I’m experimental enough for this market. I think that’s okay. You don’t have to be every kind of writer. I do what I do and some people like it and some people don’t. I need to accept this and move forward.

Over at PANK, I wrote about things writers can do to make editorial life easier. It is not comprehensive and many people might have different opinions. That is okay too.

A great many things are annoying me to varying degrees. I’ll put them in a list:

• The way people fetishize being busy. Ugh. If you’re so busy that you need to breathlessly detail everything you are doing for a little more attention, you’re actually not that busy.
• The parade taking place outside my window, because it blocked the entrance to my parking lot.
• Waiting
• Engaging in conversations with drunk people. So aggravating. So pointless.
• My pulled hamstring muscle and the fact that some asshole decided it would be a good idea to make treadmills incline.
• No air conditioning.
• This list.
• Preparing to go on the job market this fall.
• Me, myself and I.
